Ken Marek is President of JKHM Corp., where he serves as an independent advisor to financially distressed middle market companies. His approach leverages in-house resources at each client company, rather than deploying a team of outside consultants, to maximize recovery to stakeholders (creditors and equity investors). Mr. Marek is especially focused on adding value for $5 million to $50 million consumer product companies, including importers, distributors, e-tailers, and specialty retailers located in the Western U.S.

With 28 years of experience as a business owner, professional advisor, and corporate auditor, he understands the needs of both creditors and entrepreneurs. Mr. Marek has previously advised over 60 companies as a turnaround management consultant (Kibel Green) and investment banker (FocalPoint Partners, Cappello Capital Corp. and Marek Thompson Advisors). He was an adjunct professor in finance and entrepreneurship (USC Marshall School of Business) from 2001 to 2003, and his corporate advisory career began in 1994, following eleven years of business experience as an internal audit manager (McDonnell Douglas Travel Company) and entrepreneur (principal or advisor to numerous companies).

He served as a board or committee member for several organizations, including Association for Corporate Growth (ACG) and USC Marshall Alumni Association (president emeritus), and has been an active member of Turnaround Management Association (TMA), Los Angeles Venture Association (LAVA), and Business Forum International.

Mr. Marek earned a Bachelors Degree in entrepreneurial management from the Indiana University Kelley School of Business, and an MBA in corporate finance from the University of Southern California Marshall School of Business, where he was the Beta Gamma Sigma Outstanding Honors Graduate.
